Erasmus Days Celebrate International Education and Cultural Exchange
From 12 to 17 October 2026, the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Charles University took part in the international Erasmus Days. The programme for students offered an opportunity to explore Prague and its surroundings through movement, sports activities and creative ways of capturing student life.
Erasmus Days annually highlight the importance of international education, student mobility and cultural exchange. This year, the Faculty combined physical activity with discovering a new environment and sharing experiences that are a natural part of studying abroad.
One of the activities was MindRun, a running event in Divoká Šárka Nature Park. Students enjoyed exercising in nature and discovered another part of Prague beyond its busy city centre.
As part of Run Your City, students explored Prague’s streets from a runner’s perspective. Running offered them a different way to experience the city than a regular walk, allowing them to take in its atmosphere and discover less familiar corners.
The Erasmus Days programme also included a trip to Semily, where students tried a via ferrata. The activity introduced them to another way of spending their free time actively and gave them an opportunity to explore nature and places beyond Prague.
The programme also featured a photo and video contest. International students capture their study experience in Prague through photographs, short videos and reels. The Faculty shares selected entries on its social media channels, and the winner is determined by the number of likes received.
The contest gives students an opportunity to express their creativity and share their personal perspectives on life in Prague and studying at Charles University.
Erasmus Days at the Faculty showed that international mobility offers much more than simply studying in another country. It is an opportunity to discover new places, share experiences and build connections across cultures. Sport and physical activity help create shared experiences and bring people together naturally, regardless of language barriers.
Thank you to all the students who took part in Erasmus Days. We look forward to more opportunities for international exchange at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Charles University!
