International Projects
Charles University has held the Quality Label since 2023 and is now welcoming its first volunteers in its history as part of the European Solidarity Corps programme. The volunteer’s main activity is to promote volunteering itself and its benefits for Charles University students by organizing their own activities with the goal of presenting volunteering as an intercultural and international means of self-fulfillment. Among other things, volunteers work at Charles University, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport (CU SPORT), collaborate with our International Student Team and the International Student Office, and help organize the faculty events such as “Hřeje mě pohyb,” “Mind Run,” sports afternoons, and more. We believe in creating a friendly international environment and enriching the lives of volunteers, students, staff, and the public alike.
Charles University carried out its first volunteer project (2022-2-CZ01-ESC51-VTJ-000099210) from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2025. The project is part of the European Solidarity Corps programme and is funded by the European Union. As part of the project, we hosted a total of four international volunteers who worked at Faculty of Physical Education and Sport (Prague 6) and at UK Point at Charles University (Prague 1).
In June 1, 2025, the second phase of the volunteer project under our Quality Label accreditation began. The project will last two years. Our goal is to host a total of five international volunteers, who will once again work not only at Faculty of Physical Education and Sport (CU SPORT) and UK Point, but also at other faculties of Charles University as part of their Quality Label.
Volunteers in our project collaborate with the Charles University Volunteer Centre. The Charles University Volunteer Centre was established to support Charles University students in their volunteer activities and to connect them with partner nonprofit organizations. It strengthens students’ civic engagement and helps fulfill the university’s third role in society. The involvement of volunteers from the European Solidarity Corps programme in the centrally managed Charles University Volunteer Centre brings added value to the project in the form of systematic support, the sharing of best practices, and opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, thereby strengthening the impact of the project’s activities at both the university and societal levels.
