International Projects

Our faculty is actively involved in the Erasmus+ Sport call for proposals, which supports international cooperation in the field of sports with a focus on inclusivity, health, integrity, innovation, and the development of sports at the local level. Through these projects, we integrate education, research, and practice, and promote an active lifestyle across generations and social groups.
Below is an overview of selected projects we have been involved in over the past few years:
A project aimed at promoting the participation of girls and women in canoeing, particularly in the discipline of canoe slalom, both as athletes and as coaches, referees, and volunteers. The project included the training camps, mentoring activities, and a conference dedicated to women in water sports. The project was coordinated Charles University, Faculty of Physical Education and Sport.

The STANDOUT project connects sports, health, and the urban environment with the goal of promoting outdoor activities in cities and improving access to public spaces for everyone. It develops tools, recommendations, and strategic guidelines on how to integrate sports and physical activity into urban planning with a focus on sustainability and equal opportunities. Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Charles University is involved in the project as a partner.

A newly launched project focused on joint sports activities for fathers and children. The goal is to encourage families to be physically active, strengthen intergenerational bonds, and promote the importance of active fatherhood. The project will include running, cycling, and walking events in various European countries. Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Charles University is participating in the project as a partner.

A newly launched project aimed at empowering women and girls in soccer and using sports as a tool for equality, leadership, and social inclusion. The goal is to support girls’ soccer programmes, develop educational and mentoring approaches, and share examples of best practices among European partners. Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Charles University is participating in the project as a partner.
The project began in 2025.
The SHIA project - Sports & Health Innovation Accelerator coordinated by the Asociación del Deporte Español (ADESP), connects universities, researchers, startups, and businesses with the goal of promoting innovation, digitalization, and sustainability in sports and health. It focuses on developing new educational and acceleration programmes that support technological and environmental innovation, create opportunities for startups, and bridge the gap between academic and the business world, with an emphasis on a healthy and active lifestyle. Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Charles University (CU SPORT) is participating in the project as a partner.
The project began in 2025.
A project focused on supporting youth in soccer - with an emphasis on inclusion, developing coaching skills, and creating an inclusive sports environment for children and young people. Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Charles University is a partner in this project, which aims to strengthen community soccer, facilitate access for disadvantaged groups, and share European best practices in the field of youth soccer.
