State Final Examination
Completion of Studies
The State Final Examination is the final requirement for completing your studies. It consists of two parts:
- the defence of your bachelor's or master's thesis, and
- one or more subject examinations.
Subject examinations may be written, oral, or a combination of both, depending on the study programme. The thesis defence is always conducted orally.
The State Final Examination is held three times a year at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, Charles University. The examination periods are referred to as the spring, autumn, and winter dates and are published in the Academic Year Schedule.
Each examination date has a registration deadline by which students must meet all eligibility requirements and register for the examination. Registration is completed through the Student Information System (SIS) in accordance with the Academic Year Schedule.
During the registration period, students may both register for and withdraw from the examination. If you are unable to attend after the registration deadline due to serious reasons, particularly health-related circumstances, you must inform the Student Affairs Office as soon as possible.
