Completion of studies
The graduation ceremony is a formal academic event at which Charles University celebrates the successful completion of its students' studies. During the ceremony, graduates take the academic oath (in Latin) and receive their diploma from the presiding professor, officially conferring the academic degree they have earned.
At the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, graduation ceremonies are held three times a year, depending on the date of the State Final Examination:
Graduation ceremonies are held in historic university venues. Bachelor's graduates receive their diplomas in the Hall of the House at the Professed House on Lesser Town Square, while master's graduates graduate in the Grand Hall of the Karolinum. The ceremonies follow the university's academic traditions and include the use of ceremonial gowns and university insignia.
Graduation ceremonies for doctoral graduates are scheduled according to the number of graduates. They may be organised either by the Faculty or jointly for several faculties.
Joint ceremonies are organised by the Rectorate of Charles University twice a year, in May and November. Faculty-organised ceremonies are held once or twice a year, depending on the number of graduates.
Students will receive an email via the Student Information System (SIS) with the date, time, and other details of their graduation ceremony.
