The Department of Swimming, Water, and Technical Sports provides instruction in courses according to the study programmes of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, conducts research and publication activities, and carries out supplementary activities in the areas of swimming, diving, canoeing, rowing, windsurfing, sailing, water tourism, alpine and cross-country skiing, biathlon, shooting, parachuting, and other related sports.

Department´s focus:
teaching and development of swimming sports, canoeing, water tourism, skiing, cycling, and technical sports,
didactics, methodology, and coaching in school, recreational, and competitive sports,
swimming literacy, motor competencies, and physical fitness of children and adults,
health-oriented programmes, regeneration, and conditioning in water environments,
cooperation with sports federations, organizations, and educational institutions,
lifelong learning and professional development of specialists in swimming, water, and technical sports,
international cooperation and Erasmus+ projects, supporting student and academic mobility,
innovation and applied research in the fields of sport, movement, and education.
Teaching is implemented in the form of compulsory, compulsory elective, elective courses and courses in the lifelong learning mode. Scientific activity is carried out in the form of basic, applied and contract research with maximum possible use of project activities.
