In accordance with general legal regulations and the internal regulations of Charles University, students and applicants with special needs have the same right to obtain a university education as their colleagues without special needs. Therefore, the University provides each student and applicant for studies with special needs with such support or adjustments to their studies and environment as are aimed at creating conditions for maximum use of the potential of these students and applicants for studies in academic life.   

The University also takes into account the social needs of members of the academic community with specific needs and in its activities, as well as in the activities of academic self-governing bodies, takes available measures to balance their opportunities for employment at the University. 

Access to students with special needs is addressed by Rector's Directive No. 23/2017 Standards of Support Provided to Students and Applicants for Studies with Special Needs at Charles University which specifies to whom, under what conditions and in what manner the support is accessible and provided.
