HR Award
Charles University is the holder of the prestigious “HR Excellence in Research” award, which it received from the European Commission in February 2019.
This award is a recognition of Charles University's commitment to continuous improvement of working conditions for researchers and to maintaining high standards in the field of human resources in research. For this award, Charles University has been granted the right to use the HR Excellence in Research icon.
The European Commission awards the "HR Excellence in Research" prize to research institutions that have made progress in aligning their HR policies with the principles set out in the "Charter and Code". The European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers is a set of general principles and requirements that specify the role, responsibilities and rights of researchers and their employers. Based on these principles, the research institutions across Europe are implementing their HR strategies for researchers, known as the 'Human Resources Strategy for Researchers'(HRSR). A list of the institutions that have been awarded and the latest figures on the implementation of the HR strategy for researchers in Europe can be found here.
The aim of the Charter is to ensure that the relationship between researchers and employers contributes to the success of the development, transfer, sharing and dissemination of knowledge and technological development and to the career development of researchers. The Charter also provides a framework for researchers, employers and investors, encouraging them to act responsibly as professionals in their working environment and to recognise each other.
